clamav compile error

Hi,

When I try to emerge clamav, here's the error that I get:

checking for mi_stop in -lmilter... no
checking for library containing strlcpy... no
checking for mi_stop in -lmilter... no
configure: error: Cannot find libmilter

!!! ERROR: app-antivirus/clamav-0.81 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 449, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
************************************ end of error listing *********************

Has anyone else seen this?

did you check https://bugs.gentoo.org/ ?

just a guess. you are using sendmail as your MTA, you emerged sendmail without "milter" USE flag then compile clamav with milter. reemerge sendmail with milter or take out milter then emerge clamav.

Hi,

I wouldn't use sendmail if it were the last MTA on the planet. I'm using qmail.

Anyhow I took milter out of the USE variable (USE="-milter") and was then able to emerge clamav.
