i'm desperate now ... i made all the stuff on my laptop except for my camera work under gentoo
using kernel 2.6.10 gentoo patched with usb and scsi support enabled, also having usb hdd which not having any problems to be found as sda device
when booted under knoppix than both camera and hdd found, but under gentoo only hdd and no sign of camera being even detected in lsusb, dmesg or scsi proc ... can anyone suggest what the f@%! is wrong?
problem is with fuji finepix s602 zoom, hw asus L5800c ...

You're probably missing one of the usb modules required to get it working (or maybe they're compiled as modules and not being loaded?)
