|
|
I decided to recently get my Netwinder formatted and re-installed with Gentoo. I ran across various errors while trying to emerge the packages and compile the kernel. Right now I'm stuck where I load up the default configs for the Netwinder in the kernel and go to make it. It stops at the point where it's trying to compile built-in.o with an error that reads:
local symbol 0: discarded in section `.exit.text' from drivers/built-in.o
local symbol 1: discarded in section `.exit.text' from drivers/built-in.o
local symbol 2: discarded in section `.exit.text' from drivers/built-in.o
local symbol 3: discarded in section `.exit.text' from drivers/built-in.o
make: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Error 1
Anyone have any clues as to what is causing this? I haven't had too much time to look into the error yet since work has been keeping me more than busy. Any help would be appreciated. |

Hi,
I can't help with your specific query. Did you follow all the steps in the the following topic?
This worked for me just fine.
How did you get the disk formatted and with the base programs on? I took the disk out of the 'winder and put into my desktop. Reformatted the drive and copied base programs across, then put back into the 'winder and carried on from there
Kind regds
