Has anybody the same problem with Evolution 2.2 not allowing SSL?
I always get
Known problem? Anyone? I did not change anything from Evo 2.0, yet it fails...
(I build Evolution with +ssl, in case you wondered - as I did... )

I can remember that I had the same problem some time ago. but for me this was an issue with mozilla keyword. I had to to "USE=mozilla emerge evolution" to get SSL back working |

Not an option as this would install Mozilla.
I'm merging Gnome with "hppa" so I have no Epiphany/Mozilla as I'm happily using Firefox...

found it. in the calendar view you have to create a new calendar and chose the type weather for it.
it seems like you can't configure the other plugins |

Thank You ebuild maintainers!!!! I loaded this last night and I am up and running. I have to say I love this new version. Looks like they fixed the issue with Nautilus while browseing SMB shars. I definetly like the new layout also with this one. I had no problems with the emrge also just to let you know when as smooth as my babies bottom. Again thanks for such speedy work gang. _________________ Thanks

I got it whenever I used to receive mails - if pop or imap did not matter.
Edit: I guess that's not clear enough: I tried receiving mails but instead I always got a messaga similar to "Connecting to server.pop.imap.did.not.matter.I.have.both failed, SSL unavailable."
(Since I really rely on Evolution to reveice my mail I have since then switched back to Evo2.0. So I guess I'm out of the bug-hunt for Evolution/SSL problems for now... )

I am pretty sure that is why Gnome2.10 is hard masked and not just arch masked - since not all dependancies are fully available
Take gnome-python
we still have 2.6, 2.9 is still being tested by teh devs (gnome-python devs that is )
the thing is I need 2.10 of gnome-python for summing!! _________________

Hi,
If you're using the gstreamer back end (which I don't really recommend since it's still a bugarama...specially DVD playing) you might have to set your sound/video sinks for gstreamer....its multimedia devices or something in the preference menu. Even if you don't change anything just reselecting the devices got rid of that error for me when I tried the gstreamer backend.
EDIT: Just noticed that the new 1.0 ebuild in portage uses the gstreamer backend by default, not even sure if you CAN use the xine backend....hmm, dubious decision. I installed it with the xine backend using a modified 0.100 ebuild....I'll give the new ebuild a try and see how well it works.
EDIT2: OK you CAN still use the xine backend
Cheers,
James

I've got Totem 1.0 working without a problem (at listening to MP3 files) ... I don't have a DVD handy otherwise I'd try that. I'm running gstreamer 0.8.9. _________________ Derek Berube <derek.berube@wildstartech.com>

seems like this feature has disappeared. I now get on right mouse click "mark as junk/not junk", "mark as important", "mark as follow-up". does anyone know how to get "mark as read/unread" feature back into the menu? I think it is so much better to have it on your mouse click then going into "Edit" menu and choosing it there. |

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed that. I'm trying to figure that out myself. I have a number of mailing lists that I subscribe to and will mass flag a group of messages as being read. _________________ Derek Berube <derek.berube@wildstartech.com>

Has anyone experiencing this error once installing gnome 2.10?
Code: | Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
- X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation
X server version data:
Gentoo Linux (The X.Org Foundation 6.8.0, revision r4-0.2.11.3)
60800000
If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of <b>xprop -root | grep XKB</b>
- The result of <b>gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd</b> |
I get this with all my accounts as well it appears someone in the italian forum https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-305963.html (on page 3), no resolution there yet either.
I don't use any aggressive cflags, so I double that's it. I've recompiled libxklavier, no change. The only thing is I have scim and other things installed for Japanese input, so it might have something to do with the japanese keyboard layout I also use. (I've reinstalled all the ime progs just in case) |
