Hi,

a question. I have an older board for a pentium II with slot1 and 66/75 & 83 Mhz Main clock. I think this is the busspeed.

Now i want to use a pentum II 350/512/100/2.0V S1. That means he has busspeed 100Mhz. Is it possible to use this processor on the board? I know that if the board is faster than the processor it works.

Please help me.

try it :)
can't damage the cpu running it at a lower clock.

problem is that i have to buy one and i have a good offer because its hard to get those processors with a passive cooling. I would have to buy ten of them so to try it after i got them would be too late :-(

has anybody ever tested it?

Rules:

Dont let him get to hot - nothing more!
If he crashes at normal temperatures, he need more Voltage. If you spend him more Voltage, he will get hotter.

YOU CANT DAMAGE THE CPU UNLESS HE GET TO HOT (OR DROP HIM FROM ABOUT 10Meters height, LoL)

Btw:

Im running two Xeon 1.6 Core / 133 Bus @ 2.8 Core / 200 Bus.....

voltage will be enough.....

the question is if a board with a 66mhz busclock can be used with a processor with 100mhz busclock. or can i increase the busclock of the board by giving more voltage?

No, increasing voltage doesnt increase busclock...

But yes, im sure the cpu will run @ 66Mhz. Just notice that he would NOT get his full speed due to the (maybe) locked multiplier!
CPU speed is "Busspeed x clockratio"

If you decrease the busspeed youll also decrease the main-clock of the cpu...

try and error! :D

Does you MoBo support 2.0v VID?
(Or what are the choosable voltages for vcores?)

I hope so... i only now that it autodetects the cpu voltage. But now i have bought them and well see if it works.

But i think that will be no problem.... hope so *g*
