Hi,
I just read that the forums redesign is finished:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-317053-highlight-.html
But personally I think it is just uggly. Or is there something wrong with my Browser. Everything looks like the colours are inverted. Everything is Purpel and pink and hard to read.....
What do you see when you change your profile > Board style?
Chris

Uh...guys? This "gentoo-redesign" black and purple. Something's gotta' be broken with the theme. _________________ Git has obsoleted SVN.

Sorry to give such negative feedback (but any feedback is good feedback right?), but I don't like the new scheme. It's too dark, I can barely see what I'm typing, oh well each to his/her own.

The redesign is just uggly.
I could hardly read the links and entries to switch back to the old style.
Btw. when the redesign is finished can I get the old style to use _________________ -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK-----

Showing up just fine here... It's supposed to be black and purple, they're cool go-faster colours. |

Sorry, but I HATE this new design, and I strongly advise that the forums not use it! I can hardly read what I'm typing, and as soon as I click "submit" on this post I'm changing it back. Please, Gentoo developers, for the love of god, retain the option to veiw the site in the old way if you must switch to this new design. _________________ Gentoo Stable (some ~x86 in package.keywords)

White fonts on a white background would be as readable as the new design.

I can hardly even see what I'm typing
Oh well, if some people like it then that's cool AS LONG AS the old way is still an option.
EDIT: I got a headache just from typing this short post.
And, my avatar looks like shit!
EDIT 2: I'm not kidding about not being able to read it, and it giving me a headache.
EDIT 3: It has to be an april fools joke.
There's no way any sane person would make the gentoo.org front page in this color scheme, and even an insane person wouldn't make the gentoo docs in this color scheme!

I propose we call it "Optomized"[sic]. Here's how to make it:
Get a version of gimp/imagemagick compiled with -ffast-math, -fweb, and -funroll-loops. Use it for all graphical operations. The new pictures may look a bit funny, but who cares?
Convert all the graphics to .xpm so that it will parse faster. If some browsers don't support .xpm, they should try to work better with websites.
Every time a user clicks a link, choose a random number between 1-10. If it's 1, then tell the browser to exit.
Include a sidebar that scrolls past useful CFLAGS such as:
- -fomg-optomized[sic]
- -marry-me
- -Wno-warnings-no-matter-what
- -fbreak-linkage
Make each page pause between loading. This will simulate the effect of having "emerge -e world &> /dev/null" running in the background. |

I think it looks awsome, especially early in the morning. Nothing like forks in the eyes to wake you up. |

Er, sorry for all the hard work that was put in, but I have to ask: Did any of the people who did aforementioned hard work bother to look at the friggin' screen running the result?
It physically hurt my eyes after I switched to the gentoo-redesign theme.
Sorry, folks, but some of us still need to maintain reasonably good eyesight, and that's going to become impossible after a few days with the new theme. _________________ Military Commissions Act of 2006: http://tinyurl.com/jrcto

Edit: Hah, not so early for me (it's 4 AM here). Guess this year I'm the first April Fools' victim over at my place . _________________ Military Commissions Act of 2006: http://tinyurl.com/jrcto

I agree, but since it's April 1st, let's wait to see if it's just a joke. |

No, it's serious! And in a week, we will have only this option (it's hard to mantain two themes). _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |
