|
|
hello,
i've sucessfully installed gentoo 2005.0 (stage3) on my asus m6bne laptop. everything is working great, but there is one problem. is that when i shutdown it would freeze when it say "power down" and i would have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off.
in the kernel, i've disabled APM and enable APCI and others sub-options (built in) and also built-in the asus laptop support in there also.
thanks |

Disable local apic (!=acpi) support in your kernel and try again. It should work then.
Moved from Installing Gentoo. |

Why bother recompiling? Add noapic to the end of your kernel options first and see if it works... |
