|
|
Hi all. Just to give some background on my problems: Using gnome and enlightenment (as wm). I had a couple of apps open (xchat, gaim, gkrellm). Most importantly, IMO, i had a cd-rom mounted. Someone in my house went to my computer, logged out and rebooted. This is while all the apps were still open and the cd still mounted.
Now everytime I boot, I receive an error:
Code: | Some local filesystem failed to mount |
When I insert a cd in the tray and reboot, sure enough it mounts. I edited my fstab file to comment out my cdrom line, and the error does not show up on reboot. So basically my guess is the /etc/init.d/localmount script is attempting to mount filesytems listed in fstab. Here's a snippet of the localmount file which I think is responsible:
Code: | start() {
# Mount local filesystems in /etc/fstab.
ebegin "Mounting local filesystems"
mount -at nocoda,nonfs,noproc,noncpfs,nosmbfs,noshm >/dev/null
eend $? "Some local filesystem failed to mount" |
Here's the line for my cdrom in /etc/fstab:
Code: | /dev/cdroms/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noatuo,users,ro 0 0 |
According to this, it should not be attempting to mount /mnt/cdrom at all. Or am I wrong? Any hints on the fstab file and the issue at hand would be appreciated |

There's a typo in that fstab line. It reads 'noatuo'. It should be 'noauto'. |
