As the subject says, OpenSSH isn't reading my ~/.ssh/ssh_config file.

debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config

/etc/ssh/ssh_config is totally empty (all comments).
I need to use my own ssh_config file to set up some stuff specific to a host.
The file has r/w permissions for owner, and none for group/other.
Why isn't it reading the file?

I want it to read that file by default (as it seems it should).

| isn't the default path ~/.ssh/config ? that is what the man page seems to indicate under the descripton of -F |
