Desktop Environement option from kdm login screen

I have just emerged Afterstep, and I would like to be able to have the option to choose it or kde from the login screen.
Can someone tell me how to go about setting this up?

I found this thread, but I don't think that it takes me as far as I need to go.

You will have to add afterstep to your /usr/share/xsessions so that it shows up in login options.
