Hi,
hab mal eine komplexe Frage zu IP. Das IP Datagramm besitzt ein "Option" Feld.
Wie kann man rein theoretisch und anhand von den vorhandenen Daten im Datagramm feststellen, ob die Optionen leer bleiben?

Indem man nachschaut was im IHL steht, d.h. wie lang der IP-Header ist. Wenn IHL>20 dann sind Options vorhanden ansonsten nicht.
Oder habe ich die Frage nicht verstanden?

IHL ist vier-bittig. Ohne Optionen IHL=5 und die daraus resultierende (minimale) Headerlänge beträgt 20 Byte. _________________ Please make sure that you have searched for an answer to a question after reading all the relevant docs. |

sag ich doch bzw. ich meinte es jedenfalls so
20 (Byte) == 5x32Bit, daher default = 5 -> alles größer 5 heißt 'options included'
