OK, here's the thing. I've been using windows for a long time. Always Logitech mices, always with no acceleration and top speed. But with linux I just can't get it to work that way. There is an Option "Resolution" in XF86Config, which is said to be "mouse speed setting", but it doesn't work at all - has no influence whatsoever. If I do "xset m 1 1" from command line to stop the acceleration, the mouse gets far too slow. With acceleration I can get the mouse to be somewhat usable, but I'm definitely not happy with it. So if there is any way to get it faster without acceleration I would be very grateful =)

Oh, and with "xset m 2 1" I can get the acceleration off and the speed up, but the cursor jumps 2 pixels at a time. So that isn't acceptable.

I'm using my mouse in PS/2 port of course, that's what the Option "Resolution" is ment for. If there isn't a way to get this working, I guess I have to change my mouse, so which mouse would be good?

I also have a logitech mouse, and I use KDE and I remember seeing somewhere in kde config menu something about mouse speed, and accel, but I dont know about other windows managers
