I'm having a problem when I emerge coldplug.....Error Parsing proxy URL http://proxy.server.com: Bad port number !!! Couldn't download hotplug-2004_09_23.tar.gz
I was able to connect yesterday when I downloaded the stage3 files.
I thought I could copy the plugs to a floppy and then put them where they needed to be but was unsuccesful with that also. |

Seems you have a networking problem with your proxy. Let's ask a moderator to move this to the Networking & Security forum. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

I see...do you need a proxy server for http and/or ftp? If not, unset this variable (check where it is defined in /etc/env.d/ and remove it. then run env-update.) If you do need one, change it to the correct values. http://proxy.server.com:port is just an example. |

first try and then - in the same shell - try emerging again.
If that works, search for http_proxy in all the files in the /etc/env.d directory Code: | grep http_proxy /etc/env.d/* |
If you found it, edit the file that contains it and remove that line. Do the same for ftp_proxy |
