This problem keeps happening. First XMMS wouldnt play music because it said my saoundcard was being used by another app. I changed the output driver in XMMS to ALSA, and it started to work. Now CS:S in cedega gives me the same error. How do I get rid of this error for good? |

Are you using KDE or Gnome? If you're using KDE, you might want to configure Arts to use ALSA and then make everything use Arts.
As for your game, do you have OSS emulation configured and running? It's a good possibility that you'll need it to get things to work in Cedega. A lot of games in Linux only support OSS, for example. _________________ "No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious" -- George Bernard Shaw |

in cedega, just change the Driver part of winmm section to winealsa.drv and it'll start using alsa _________________ Sysadmin of Ubuntu systems and servers....

neither of those fixed the problem However if I start CS, get the error, shut down the game, then open it again the sound works. |

And these problems all started when I started to use alsaplayer to play kde sounds. I do thie because when I tell it to use the KDE default player, it always gives me a soundserver crash. |
