As for me, I use KDE now and wanted to make gtk apps look similar to KDE ones, well different task to yours. Anyway. Here people adviced gtk-chtheme utility, it works great for me. Don't know if this would fit your needs, I don't use gaim (there's centericq at present ) _________________ No one knows better than a developer how would his/her programs react to any given cflags (c) 6thpink
For better results compile coffee from source before drink. Sugar would better go as a module. |

Try running the gnome-font-properties program, if you have that installed. As well as fixing your font problem, it will start the Gnome Settings Daemon which will load your Gnome background and change the appearance of your GTK widgets. That is, if you have installed enough of Gnome for it to do all of that.
It's a poor workaround, I know. I wish I had a better solution for you that doesn't require Gnome to be installed. |

Check your text formatting settings in the preferences. |

There is a plugin for gaim called gaim-extprefs. It's in portage. One of the options it gives you is to change the font sizes.

this is the output which I get:
Code: |
bash-2.05b# emerge -pv gaim-extprefs
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "gaim-extprefs" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-plugins/gaim-extprefs-0.4 (masked by: ~x86 keyword)
- x11-plugins/gaim-extprefs-0.3 (masked by: ~x86 keyword)
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.

Then I tried :
Code: |
bash-2.05b# ACCEPT_KEYWORD="~x86" emerge -pv gaim-extprefs
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

a) The environment variable is ACCEPT_KEYWORDS
b) Don't do it like that! Add a line to /etc/portage/package.keywords (create it if it doesn't already exist) that reads: Code: | x11-plugins/gaim-extprefs ~x86 |
Rock on! |
