Hello,
I have switched my au500 from FreeBSD to Gentoo 2005.0. When I run fdisk and remove all the partitions (except for c as per the install guide) and then repartition it for gentoo. I come up with the following partition table:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
livecd root # fdisk /dev/sda
Detected an OSF/1 disklabel on /dev/sda, entering disklabel mode.
BSD disklabel command (m for help): p
8 partitions:
# start end size fstype [fsize bsize cpg]
a: 3 127 125 swap
b: 126 1106 981 ext2
c: 1 1107* 1106* unused 0 0
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems to work just fine, but it reports 8 partitions when there are only 3. Any ideas? _________________ SeeEf

No. Any partitions from the vendor are long gone. I've had a vareity of OSs on this machine and have partitioned it a few different ways. _________________ SeeEf
