i've emerge gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r6 and i'm trying to use bootsplash

so i emerge bootsplash but the 'bootsplash_patch' but he retruns me an error something like 'kernel not supoorted'

i went to the bootsplash web site and downloaded the las patch for the 2.6.11 kernel

but the patch returns some errors and the "[*] Bootup splash screen" options is still missing..... :?

so i was wondering if i need to emerge the vanilla sources or if there is a way i cant use bootsplash with the gentoo-sources or if i need to emerge the splashutils instead of bootsplash package

thank you in advance

You do not want to use bootsplash use gensplash instead. http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/gensplash/
