Going to setup a proxy server for my home network. On the network there are about 10 computers on it. SO just wondering if there is a good Howto on how to setup a proxy.

Also what programs do you guys recommend i use to run the proxy?

I've always used squid (http://www.squid-cache.org/).

A search of gentoo-wiki.com came up with this:

http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_setup_a_home-server#Configuring_squid

If you don't mind using a generic howto, there are plenty available if you search google.

Squid works well, and is pretty much the standard for proxy servers. Honestly, I can't think of any other proxy server anyways. The config file is pretty long though :/
