I need to change teh nameservers in /etc/resolve.conf. What service do I need to restart to take these changes into account? _________________ "Every time I learn something new it pushes some old stuff out of my brain." - Homer Simpson |

Don't know if there is a better method, but I usually restart the interface. As in: Code: | /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart |

You don't need to restart anything. The changes take effect immediately, but you do need to spell it right. It's resolv.conf (no 'e'). _________________ Ask Questions the Smart Way - by ESR |

Thanks, know 'bout the spelling - fingers tend to type in English not Linux... _________________ "Every time I learn something new it pushes some old stuff out of my brain." - Homer Simpson |
