This has been a problem for quite a while, but i've recently becomed annoyed enough to fix it. Why does my laptop give me completely random times when i come back from hibernation or suspend? I'm sorry if this is a bit vague, I can give you the contents of any config file needed.

Thanks!

does this fix it, by chance:
Code:
/etc/init.d/clock pause
/etc/init.d/clock start

I'm seeing the same problem when simply putting the machine to sleep as well as full hibernation (state written to RAM, uses low power vs. state written to disk, uses no power)

Also, the longer the sleep/hibernation, the further off the clock seems to be when coming back up.

In addition to this, I frequently see lockups when bringing the system back up if it was put into sleep/hibernation while in X (wm is xfce4). I tried switching over to another terminal (getty) and hibernating, but when it came back the key mappings were screwed up, i.e. pressing ctrl would print 2 w's, h would produce a CR, etc. It seems like things are generally going sour when sleeping/hibernating.

It may be worth noting that I've not always had this problem. I recently upgraded the HD in this machine and installed fresh with the 2.6 kernel, previously it was running 2.4. Under 2.4 everything worked perfectly.

I'm looking into the clock pause/start suggestion now, but any advice in the mean time would be great.
