Hi
i am new to gentoo
i downloaded the 2005.0 universal cd and installed gentoo
the installation cd recognized my nic and initialized it but the installed one on my hdd doesnot detect my nic
My NIC is
ADMtek AN983 10/100 PCI Adapter
or
RTL8139A/B/C/D RTL81xx 10/100Mbps PCI Adapter
both of the drivers work with my NIC
the installation cd detected it as ADM
but i didnt use the genkernel for my installation
i use the make menuconfig,
there i could not find adm but found realtek 8139 and 8139c+ i enabled both
they didnt detect the nic
then i tried building them as modules
still nic not detected then i tried the how to at tldp.org and enabled all the other drivers i thought may be compatible with my NIC still the same

can anybody help me plz.
THNKS

I ask again: how do you know this ?

Run the above commands on your system and post the output.
