|

Hi to all!
For some weeks, I've been defeated in trying to make azureus work as a multiuser application. It seems to me that this is impossible. The point is, that I'm maintaining a server in my house, that enables us to download all day without leaving our pc's on (and thus send the electricity bill sky high). But, we all have moved to torrents now and it is not very efficient if the client is not keeping up!
The solutions I'm thinking of is the web interface (which runs already in my server), or another (cli client possibly) that I can use for my queue of downloads (i'm the main downloader so I deserve half of the bandwidth at any time ). It would be better if I could run another client too, so mainly I'm writting this post to get help in this direction.
Any ideas? _________________ "Yep linux is an alternative. Windows on the other hand isn't even an option"

btdownloadcurses is what I use. For this you'll have to install the bittorent package:
Code: | emerge -av net-p2p/bittorrent |

Thnx for the reply!
As far as I know, this is CLI based. Am I right? Is it easy to manage a big queue?
Thnx again! _________________ "Yep linux is an alternative. Windows on the other hand isn't even an option"

Yes, you're right, it's a CLI program.
And no, it's impossible to manage a big queue (as far as I know). If you have multiple torrents you should use btdownloadheadless, btdownloadcurses manages only one torrent at a time.
I use them in a screen, so I can disconnect after I start it. _________________ "Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it." - Brian W. Kernighan |

I figured these out, but thnx for posting. I think I'll take the web interface option, possibly I will edit each torrent to have different priorities or so. I'll keep looking for some days more _________________ "Yep linux is an alternative. Windows on the other hand isn't even an option"
