I've noticed that (or at least it appears to me) that the lists are much more active than these forums. Sometimes i get a burning question that i'd like to get a fast response to. Will i be accused of double-posting if i ask both in the forums, as well as on the lists (appropriately within these 2 sections of course - not spamming to all lists, or all forum sections)
is there any official policy on this? or is it just a convenience or preference factor? (ie. if u like one or the other or both, just use them) |

I don't think there is a current policy on this, but I'll point out the thread to get some responses.

I see no problem with asking questions both in the forums and on lists, although it might be a good idea to make the forum the central place, and have people try to respond here, because it will be easier for everybody to follow the discussion. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

right. I hope i dont confuse people though - some people have a known preference a certain thing and tend to stay out of the other. Nevertheless, this is a good suggestion. |

i think i'll follow what pjp suggested. Personally, i just wish the 2 were integrated (yeah, it's a big wish), though i doubt that will happen anytime soon. Both systems have their own advantages, and "preferrers". |

Just to set the record straight, these forums average over 700 posts per day. I believe that's roughly twice what gentoo-user and gentoo-dev get in an average day.

hm, ok. My mistake then, and apologies. I just had the impression that somehow "things dont move" around here. |
