How come there's only one theme to the Gentoo Forums? All I see is subSilver, when I know that there other php-based forums that allow different themes. What gives? |

Short answer: we haven't gotten around to it yet.
Longer answer: We may add additional themes at some point. If we do, they will be unsupported in any way, meaning if we need to upgrade phpBB to a new version, and one theme doesn't work well with the new version, tough nuggets. That's been the main reason we haven't added themes so far -- it makes upgrading a bitch.
We're also tossing around the idea of creating our own, Gentoo-based theme. That's not finalized, however.

i'm hoping for a different choice than subSilver too, because the scrollbar is very hard to see on konqueror.
here's a screenshot :

Isn't it copyrighted under the GPL or something similar? _________________ Frailty, thy name is woman! |

If you read a bit further you can see: Powered by phpBB 2.0.6 © 2001, 2002 phpBB Group
Isn't that interesting? The phpBB forum is copyrighted under the GNU General Public License...
My question was, is the theme copyrighted under the GPL terms or something similar (I understand it is copyrighted)? _________________ Frailty, thy name is woman! |

phpbb is the underlying code that uses the GPL. The theme does not. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I've changed your account to use the Gentoo theme instead of the "redesign". Please post here should you want to change username. _________________ Please read our FAQ Forum, it answers many of your questions.

When I try to change my profile I get the following error: Code: | Sorry, but this username contains an invalid character such as '. |
I can workaround it by deleting the dot after the M and re-submitting, so it's not a big deal. It's just a new error so, I was wondering if it was a bug or a "feature". _________________ What is the best [insert-type-of-program-here]? |

Your posts are associated with your userid, not the name.
