i have got my system all up and running now, but i am trying to get my mp3 pplayer to work now. i have changed my kernel around and enabled scsi and what not but i do not know what to do now. here is the outout of dmesg

I can't clearly understand what you meen in "what to do now."
If you only want to copy files on it mount /dev/sda /mnt/mp3 ...
it will probably have FAT fs on it.

i have got it working now. only problem is, i can;t remove it and then plug it back in and still copy files. i have to restart if i ever want to plug it back in. how can i fix this? |

when you removed it, did you unmount it first?
If you didnt and just remove it you prolly caused a kernel panic on that driver hence why when you re-instert it you cannot use it.
Eqaully just pysically removing it without unmounting could cause filesystem corruptionsince HD buffers and Kernel buffers have not been flushed to disk _________________ #define HelloWorld int

Make sure you're current working directory is not on the device.
eg. If you mount to /mnt/mp3, make sure you're not in any directory of /mnt/mp3/...
Sometimes you may even need to close the console from which you mounted the device from.
I find using the desktop device icons of KDE much easier and avoid those errors altogether. |
