|
|
Hi All-
Does anybody know of a non-GUI based jabber client that could be used from a shell (non-X terminal)?
I suppose there is the option to just telnet to the jabber server and place a properly formatted XMMP message on the server, but it would be great if something out there already exists to handle the XMMP and save me from learning the syntax.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I am looking for something similar, I want my linux box to be able to message me when there are important events (security etc), so I am looking for a very lightweight client, hopefully a shell script so there are no other dependencies ( and I don't need the GUI). Thanks! |

well there is a perl-icq module, maybe also a perl-jabber module (or better yet a ruby-jabber module) then you might be able to use that to write a simple script. |
