|
I have 2 qmail (email gateway) installation as following:
Incoming Internet E-mails
|
newyork.savoladns.com
|
Internal Real mailserver
|
heathrow.savoladns.com
|
Outgoing Internet E-mails
of course my internal users are connected to the "real mailserver" which is hosting two different domain names, let's say domain.one and domain.two
now some users on domain.two have to move to domain.one for some reason, can I use vpopmail forwarding through qmailadmin to forward the mails for those particular users? Remember that those user mailboxes are on the "real mailserver" not on the qmail gateway! If yes what should I change? If no then what is the best way to do it? _________________ Making *nix user friendly is easier than debugging Windoz

There's barely enough information here for us to see a clear answer. You're gonna need to tell us more about your situation and the desired effect. _________________ [No package... Grabbing a set.] |

I have some users on domain.one to be moved over to use domain.two. those few users would still be receiving mails on domain.one until the "world" knows their new domain.two accounts.
Here comes my query, I'm looking for a solution to forward their E-mails on the MTA level, not on the mail server level. As explained earlier, the user accounts are on the real mail server not on the qmail MTA. I think it would be easy to have vpopmail forward their domains if their accounts were on the qmail MTA, but unfortunately that's not the case.
I hope I was clear enough and will be glad to provide further details if required....
Thanks in advance for any help... _________________ Making *nix user friendly is easier than debugging Windoz

Let me rephrase my question and simplify it more...
Is there a way to forward mails on qmail for non local nor vpopmail accounts? If so, what are the requirements and what to do?
I think this is the simplest way I can explain my question! _________________ Making *nix user friendly is easier than debugging Windoz

non local AND non virtual? I would say probably not, however, there is no reason you cannot make a virtual user and use .qmail with a foreward line. Or am I missing something important? _________________ [No package... Grabbing a set.] |

Greate, now we are hitting another problem, if I create a virtual domain and user, why should I use a .qmail file? Shouldn't it be done through qmailadmin forward feature? Also if I create that virtual domain I can forward that user's mails but other users will get affected! Because I don't want to forward all users in domain.one, I want to forward only some of domain.one users _________________ Making *nix user friendly is easier than debugging Windoz
