Vorhin freute ich mich noch das ich auf meinem Laptop endlich die ATI zum laufen bekommen habe, jetzt ärgert mich KDE.
KDE startet, zeigt mir den Logonmanager und es steht kein User drin.
Meinen User (nicht der root, sondern ein eigener) ist im Namensfeld eingetragen, die Maus läßt sich bewegen, aber ich kann nichts eingeben. Keine Reaktionen auf die Tastatur. Ein wechseln auf eine Console ist auch nicht möglich.
Ein emerge -C kdebase und emerge kdm haben mir auch nichts gebracht.
Mal abgesehen davon das kdm jetzt kdebase blockiert und es vorher genau anderstrum war.
Ich versteh im Moment überhaupt nichts mehr und nach 1 Stunde goggeln gehen mir langsam die Ideen aus.

Ich habe KDE jetzt vollständig rausgeworfen und lasse es neu emergen...
Mal schaun ob es danach geht.
Starte ich ohne KDE und NUR X, dann läuft alles einwandfrei. |

Ich habe jetzt eine komplette Reinstallation hinter mir und das Problem ist jetzt ein wenig weiter nach hinten geschoben.
Zwar bekomme ich einen Logonscreen und kann mich dort auch einloggen, aber sobald er einen Schritt weiter geht (also dieses Configteil bringt beim Erststart) geht gar nichts mehr.
Er zeigt mir einen Teil des Rahmens an, die Maus geht noch bewegen, aber mehr auch nicht.
Ein Wechsel in die Konsole ist auch nicht möglich. |

Also, für den kommerziellen ati Treiber sind solche Sachen leider nichts ausergewöhnliches! Hab das so oder ähnlich schon öfter erlebt! Funktioniert den mit den freien Treibern was?

Sorry, aber da X startet und geht nahm ich nicht an das die Grafikkarte das Problem ist.

der bleibt ja nicht beim logonscreen hängen, sondern beim splashscreen...
schau mal, ob was interessantes in ~/.xsession-errors steht

Habe ich gemacht, zur Sicherheit (ich weiß nicht unbedingt notwendig) auch nochmal neu gebootet.

Das Problem ist gelöst.
Sobald ich no_accel="yes" gemacht habe in der xorg.conf lief die Anmeldung durch.
Demnach gibt es wohl ein Problem mit dieser Hardwarekombination.
glxgears gibt mir jetzt so ca. 630 FPS aus... nicht so das wahre und beim Verschieben von Fenster sieht man wie er das ganze zeichnet, aber für den Anfang besser als gar nichts.
Eventuell findet sich ja noch jemand der eine bessere Lösung hat. |
