Hi, I installed gentoo-osx, and everything seemed to be working ok.
I just did an emerge sync, and now it seems to be looking for ppc packages,
rather than ppc-macos packages. Anyone else seen this? What would cause this?

Setting ARCH in /etc/make.conf to "ppc-macos" rather than "ppc" gives me the behaviour I was looking for. Whether this is a good thing, I don't know yet... |

in /etc/make.conf
ARCH should be "ppc" and ACCEPT_KEYWORDS should be "ppc-macos", do you have any luck with that? |
