echo " file in $TOOLSDIR/distro-configs/. Continuing with defaults." |

refetch. configure.in missed some of these. suka suka suka
edit hardwired '--with-distro=Gentoo' to santize. did not see any other use in xoo scripts as taking flags from that file. _________________ hear hear

Fix one bug, introduce another... The eternal dance of debugging.
Code: | config.status: creating distro-configs/Gentoo64.conf

config.status: error: cannot find input file: distro-configs/GentooBF.conf.in |

refetched, and recompiling...

suka uses Gentoo.conf(.in) only. so --with-distro cannot be anything but Gentoo _________________ hear hear |

Yep! I'm removing gtk+2.8.x as everything segfaults now! | wasn't meant by that. gtk+-2.8 is just fine here. G12 starts up. progs linked against it just work. good old x86 arch. heh
edit right now updating to glib 2.8.1, cairo 1.0.0 and gtk+ 2.8.2
edit hit this bug: http://blog.ivany.org/archives/2005/03/23/garnome-21001-atk-191-build-failure/
luckily too easy to solve. cannot report since b.g.o is loading to death.
have fun!
edit did some more naming fixes (ooo to xoo)
edit for XOOo2 firefox useflag you have to unmask mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r6 since that nss/nspr stuff (ssl useflag of firefox) got into portage finally. _________________ hear hear |

does spell checker work for anyone who has successfully emerged this overlay?
for me it just says "spellcheck complete!" even though there are blatant spelling mistakes

yeah same thing with me, spell check dont work but other than that everything works I think, just compiled with the following settings...
make.conf
------------
CFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium4 -mtune=pentium4 -pipe -fforce-addr -falign-functions=4 -fprefetch-loop-arrays -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer -ffast-math -mfpmath=sse -msse2 -mmmx"
LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--enable-new-dtags -Wl,--sort-common -s"
package.use
--------------
app-office/openoffice-ximian -cairo cups -firefox gnome spell zlib -java
ALSO, there is no xooffice2 just an ooffice2 _________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. |

the ebuild should be fine. i just use -spell. which leeds me up to a version without any spell function. so there is no possibility for me to test it. _________________ hear hear |

OK, thanks to this post I appear to have solved the mystery of the missing dictionaries.. well I can tell you how to get them back at least.
open an openoffice module (writer is fine)
click tools -> Options -> Openoffice.org -> Paths -> Take note of "Dictionaries" location on the right. For me this is /usr/lib/x00-1.9.124/share/wordbook/en-GB/
change this to /usr/lib/x00-1.9.[version]/share/dict/ooo
now grab this file (which I just bundled with en_AU, en_GB and en_US dictionaries and thesaurus and hyphenation)
and extract it to that directory, which for me is:
Code: | tar -xvjpf ~/dictionaries.tar.bz2 -C /usr/lib/x00-1.9.124/share/dict/ooo |
now, restart openoffice module and
click tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids -> Available language modules
you should now see Hunspell, Openoffice MySpell, ALTLinux, Openoffice Thesaurus etc.. click on Openoffice MySpell and hit Edit.
From the Language pulldown menu you should have English Australia, UK and USA.
Select them one by one and make sure the options in the box below are all ticked.
And you're all working!
You can even have different lines in your document use different dictionaries. Highlight, format character, and select the language you want!
Naturally select your default dictionary from
tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Languages -> Western
And if you want your own language, then download them from here, edit the dictionaries.lst file and restart openoffice modules.
Hope this helps others out there.
