I am in the process of planning a move from Mac OS X To Gentoo Linux. One of the things that Mac OS X does real well is wireless networking, and I would like my wireless setup to be as easy as possible.

With this in mind, what would be considered the best wireless network card for a desktop computer running Gentoo? A lot of people seem to like Intel's IPW2200 but that seems to be for laptops only.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

madwifi (atheros chipset) is good too (provided the gentoo madwifi ebuild devs actually check it works sanely before exposing it to the world  )
