|
|
I have problem running dhcpcd with the access point at home, and I don't know how to debug it by reading the error log...caz I don't know where it is...
It could be a kernel problem, but here's the deal:
I have two kernels currently compiled in my system 2.6.11-nitro1 and 2.6.12-nitro5
with nitro1 everything works....
with nitro5 (and hence the ipw2200 driver that comes with it) everything works in school (no encryption and such), but at home (with WEP -- I tested it with) wpa_supplicant is able to associate with the access point but dhcpcd just timed out....
I added dhcpcd_eth1 = "-d -t 60" in /etc/con.f/net, but the only extra line it prints out is the mac address of the ipw2200 card...
I also read man dhcpcd, in which it suggested adding "local0.* /var/log/dhcpcd.log" to syslog.conf, then I realize that I don't have syslog, but syslog-ng, which I don't quite know how to use...
Help please? _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

Nitro is unsupported. Try with a gentoo-sources build kernel. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

I am not asking for support for Nitro. I am asking how can I log dhcpcd so that I can figure this out. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------
