Hi there,

I'm trying to upgrade to httpd-2.0.54 but got stuck at emerging it (lol) :-D

This is what i have after the downloading/unpacking/patching/configuration process is done:

Code:
/usr/share/apr-0/build/libtool --silent --mode=compile i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc  -pthread  -O3 -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe  -DLINUX=2 -D_REENTRANT -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -D_SVID_SOURCE -D_GNU_SOURCE -DAP_HAVE_DESIGNATED_INITIALIZER   -I/usr/include/apr-0 -I. -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/os/unix -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/server/mpm/worker -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/modules/http -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/modules/filters -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/modules/proxy -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/include -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/modules/generators -I/usr/include/openssl -I/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.54-r31/work/httpd-2.0.54/modules/dav/main -prefer-non-pic -static -c study.c && touch study.lo

That's it :-) and it starts to hang for days, nothing really happens.

I tried to strace the upgrade process but well... nothing really, the last message I saw is a warning explaining that a cross- compiler will be used if detected :-)

Any ideas on where to look?

Thanks,

What gcc version is in use? Have you tried other gcc version?

Hi there,

gcc-3.4.4-r1

I've a dual P3, so opts:

CFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe"
MAKEOPTS="-j3"

use keys for apache: +apache2 -debug -doc +ldap -mpm-leader -mpm-peruser -mpm-prefork -mpm-threadpool -mpm-worker -no-suexec (-selinux) +ssl -static-modules +threads

Haven't tried another version of gcc since all other projects seems to be compiling just fine (including glibc, kernel, etc).
Previous version of apache (2.0.54-r30 which is currently installed) is neither compiling for some reason.

make[3]: *** [study.lo] Error 1
make[3]: *** [maketables.lo] Error 1
make[3]: *** [get.lo] Error 1

I smell some local pebkacness :-)

I'll do an emerge -Depu apache to see if that helps :-/

Ta,
