|

Hi,
I'm currently trying to assign keyboard-shortcuts to "volume up", "volume down" and "mute" in Gnome 2.10.2. (Desktop -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts).
I have all kinds of shortcuts set up that work flawlessly. But no matter which key I assign to the mute, volume up and down, they don't have any effect.
Setting the volume in any mixer (for example the alsamixer program, or the mixer-applet in the gnome pannel) works without problems.
Is this a bug in Gnome? Any suggestions?

Hey there,
Look and see if ESD is running. Maybe those shortcuts will only work if that is running. A workaround would be to use xbindkeys.
regards,

Thanks scoon!
ESD is not running. And since I don't want to run any random daemons I'll have a look at xbindkeys.
Thanks!
