come da topic. da alcuni giorni qualunque argomento uso per emerge ottengo:

se non sbaglio mi era successo qualcosa di simile, era dovuto al fatto che hanno levato speedfreq da portage...purtroppo non mi ricordo come ho risolto

ok ho risolto parzialmente:
dunque, e' vero lo sapevo che lo hanno tolto da portage.. il punto e' che io lo avevo installato tempo addietro.
il punto e' che anche emerge -c speedfreq mi da lo stesso errore!!
comunque sia, con unclepine ho guardato le dopendenze e ho scoperto che risultava richiesto da (e da chi altri, senno'?) il world file.
ho cosi editato a mano il world ed eliminato la riga di speedfreq. ora non ho problemi con emerge.
tuttavia speedfreq continua ad essere installato sul sitema e non riesco a toglierlo... |

Potresti crearti un ebuild sul portage overlay (scaricandolo dal cvs), e lanciare emerge con l'opzione -t, per vedere che pacchetto richiede speedfreq!

comeho gia detto sopra.. 
ho usato unclepine per fare la stessa cosa e sostanzialmetne eraz "richiesto" solo dal worldfile.
il problema vero e' adesso che non riesco a eliminarlo!! |

Cosa intendi precisamente? Con che operazioni avviene la "forzata installazione" di speedfreq?

dovresti riuscire a rimuoverlo specificando il path dell'ebuild contenuto in /var/db/pkg

Madò come sono idiota, ho capito adesso il problema! 
Hai rimosso la voce "speedfreq" dal world file ma il pacchetto è effettivamente installato nel sistema... Vai con il suggerimento di lavish....
