It compiled nicely, but when I run a it errors out, say :
Code: | valheru@gentoomachine cinelerra-1.1.5 $ make install
make -f build/Makefile.cinelerra install
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/valheru/cinelerra-1.1.5'
make -C cinelerra install
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/valheru/cinelerra-1.1.5/cinelerra'
strip i686/cinelerra
strip: i686/cinelerra: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [install] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/valheru/cinelerra-1.1.5/cinelerra'
make[1]: *** [install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/valheru/cinelerra-1.1.5'
make: *** [install] Error 2

So there is no directory "i686"? or no binary "cinelerra".
I suggest you make sure it is there or search the Makefile for the strip command and point it to the correct binary. _________________ linux user 65882 |

Heh, i686 is there, but there is no cinelerra directory in it. If I create one then it exits complaining that it is a directory - so evidently that isn't it either. I tried a few things which I could think of, but couldn't find the strip command in the make file or anything. Dunno what it is. |

Am trying to get the latest version of cinelerra installed. I dont suppose there are any of you smart folks out there who would know how to do so, or how to get an ebuild of this for the portage tree? |

i believe there already is an ebuild although it does not compile successfully and if I remember correctly, the latest one is still masked.
To be honest, I have not gotten any of the ebuilds to work properly for me.
Lemme know if you guys have any luck. |

I have been trying to get it to work too. The fact that that dir isn't there, means your compile wasn't succesfull, it seems like it is, I was fooled too first, but it isn't, the build proces consists of different make's after each other, and a few break in the middle, resulting in the final build failing. i'll keep you up to date _________________ Life is like a box of chocolates...
