I am having a problem with the vmxnet driver from VMware. It worked the very first time I used it, it worked perfectly and I had net access.

Now, however, it is unable to get an IP address with DHCP. However, the DHCP server on the host is apparently doing the right thing:

Code:

Oct 30 11:40:58 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPACK on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:41:15 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPREQUEST for 172.16.9.130 from 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:41:15 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPACK on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:41:46 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPREQUEST for 172.16.9.130 from 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:41:46 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPACK on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:42:53 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPDISCOVER from 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:42:54 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPOFFER on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:42:59 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPDISCOVER from 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:42:59 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPOFFER on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:43:12 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPDISCOVER from 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:43:12 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPOFFER on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:43:50 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPDISCOVER from 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8
Oct 30 11:43:50 [vmnet-dhcpd] DHCPOFFER on 172.16.9.130 to 00:0c:29:e1:68:af via vmnet8

However, it's like the guest never realizes that it got a response.

Everything works fine as soon as I switch back to pcnet32, however.
