I have a working MRTG install of several of my networking devices. I monitor Cisco, HP, Windows and Fortinet devices. Sometimes I get bits per second, sometimes I get bytes per second. How does MRTG know bits vs bytes? Can I change this? _________________ Drinking from the fountain of knowldege.

MRTG does bytes unless bits are specified. I normally have all the bytes stuff in the top of my config and then add this line to specify bits and filling in left to right.
options[_]: growright,bits
I think you can also over ride this per interface as well.

ah, my global options were in bits... so if I re-use the Option section on a config, it must be overriding my global option when I see bytes. _________________ Drinking from the fountain of knowldege.
