I'm looking to set my laptop up with multiple network configurations ala the ping-places sample script with debian's ifupdown, which worked quite well for me. (see http://www.fifi.org/doc/ifupdown/examples/ )
i'd like my network config to be detected automatically. at some locations i get dhcp, at others a fixed address. i need to change my dns, http proxy settings as well as ip settings based on this.
what would be a good way for me to go about this? i.e. is there a similar package to ifupdown (i can't find one) or technique? otherwise, what would be a clean way to integrate this kind of functionality into the gentoo conf.d/net network config structure?
cheers,
eoin. |
