|
|
Hello all,
One of the things I still couldn't manage to set working in my new laptop is that my USB pendrive is not automounted. I'm using Gnome 2.12.2, kernel 2.6.12-r6, and all packages are the latest version.
It has been a while since my last Gentoo install (on my desktop), I wonder if I forget something...
thanks for all help |

you have auto in the mount options in fstab? also check dmesg | less for any problems. Also make sure you are using udev, not devfs and have hotpug installed.
see http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/udev-guide.xml for details. _________________ https://otw20.com/ OTW20 The new place for off the wall chat |

Hi
I had a similar problem when I upgraded Gnome from 2.10 to 2.12. In 2.12, Gnome uses pmount for automounting the devices. To be able to use this feature as a user, I had to add myself to the plugdev group (I hope this is the right name, I can't look it up right now...). This helped.
