I am trying to set up a new x86 system on an old p2. I can't manage to boot it with a cd so I have decided to just create the system directly onto the p2's HD and then boot from it. I am trying to compile the kernel in the new system but I am running an amd64. Each time i try to select the cpu type in the new system under kernel config I can only select amd64 type cpus...
any ideas on how I can get around this? _________________ The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. |

not a clue, and I'm not on a gentoo box right now, but it's to make sure uname and such returns x86 and not x86_64.
I use it in chroot to x86 |
