After i got lm_sensors working I just found a program to display temps and never thought of that again, until now.
This is sensors output:
Code:
w83627hf-isa-0290
Adapter: ISA adapter
VCore 1:   +1.65 V  (min =  +1.57 V, max =  +1.73 V)
VCore 2:   +4.08 V  (min =  +1.57 V, max =  +1.73 V)
+3.3V:     +3.14 V  (min =  +3.14 V, max =  +3.47 V)       ALARM
+5V:       +4.97 V  (min =  +4.76 V, max =  +5.24 V)
+12V:     +11.73 V  (min = +10.82 V, max = +13.19 V)
-12V:     -12.85 V  (min = -13.18 V, max = -10.80 V)
-5V:       -4.95 V  (min =  -5.25 V, max =  -4.75 V)
V5SB:      +5.46 V  (min =  +4.76 V, max =  +5.24 V)
VBat:      +1.49 V  (min =  +2.40 V, max =  +3.60 V)
fan1:     1896 RPM  (min = 33750 RPM, div = 8)
fan2:     6490 RPM  (min = 56250 RPM, div = 8)
fan3:     1454 RPM  (min = 1110 RPM, div = 8)
temp1:       +34°C  (high =   +12°C, hyst =  -109°C)   sensor = thermistor
temp2:     +43.5°C  (high =  +100°C, hyst =   +95°C)   sensor = thermistor
temp3:     +38.0°C  (high =  +100°C, hyst =   +95°C)   sensor = thermistor
vid:      +1.650 V  (VRM Version 9.0)
alarms:   Chassis intrusion detection                      ALARM
beep_enable:
          Sound alarm enabled

lm90-i2c-0-4c
Adapter: SMBus nForce2 adapter at 5000
M/B Temp:    +44°C  (low  =    +0°C, high =   +70°C)
CPU Temp:  +61.9°C  (low  =  +0.0°C, high = +70.0°C)
M/B Crit:    +85°C  (hyst =   +75°C)
CPU Crit:    +85°C  (hyst =   +75°C)

SMBus is reporting much higher temps. Which one should I trust? Programs that I have used defaults to ISA Adapter if it's loaded so I haven't noticed this before. I've got an Athlon 2400+ XP, how hot is it supposed to be?

Sorry but i must ask :)

Have you checked in the bios utility if you got a
display for the sensors ? What i mean , to know which
has the real reading , id compare with what the BIOS
reports in the BIOS setup utility ..

At least here i got that as a bios feature.
