Hi all,
I'm getting the following messages on /var/log/mpd.error.log:
Code: | Dec 8 12:50 : current locale is "C"
Dec 8 12:50 : setting filesystem charset to ISO-8859-1
Dec 8 12:50 : unable to open oss mixer "/dev/mixer"
Dec 8 12:50 : using software volume
|
Since MPD (using ncmpc client) works great, I dont really know if these are _actually_ errors.
MPD webpage or google didn't help me to solve my questions
Does anybody know what those errors mean? Should I just ignore them?
Thanks in advance. _________________ GNU/Linux registered user #333828

They aren't really errors but more like warnings. I think you can fix the locale warning by setting:
"filesystem_charset "UTF-8" " in mpd.conf. Also, can you post the mixer lines in your mpd.conf, maybe it's something wrong in there too. _________________ gentoo.ro |

/dev/mixer issue was solved after realizing that OSS Mixer API was not in the kernel (This makes me wonder if i am really using ALSA an not OSS )
Gonna check your suggestion about locale.
