Hi folks
My problem is that I don't know how to connect my newly installed
Gentoo box to the net. I usually run Slackware and connect to the
net via an external isdn modem using the program wvdial.
Is there any chance that I can get wvdial installed as a binary
package? If not which, utilities on the packages-cd could be useful
(minicom maybe?)? Any suggestion bringing me closer to a net
connection is highly esteemed!
I look forward to learn more about this distribution, merry christmas,

I don't know if this helps, but I used to run Gentoo off of an old 56k internal modem that used WVdial. Initally, actaully, I set it up at a friends place that had ADSL, but later on, I think I installed wvdial by just downloading it and copying it to /usr/portage/distfiles. wvdial isn't a big program, just watch the dependancies.
It was a real pain, especially because I was a little new about the whole linux thing, but it worked out in the end. I don't think I'd run a p2-400 off of a 56k modem again, but I don't regret it
