I thought maybe this would be a good place to discuss opengl issues.
For some reason none of my gl screensavers work but I have opengl running in all other apps that require it (games, composite)
anybody have any ideas? I mean, it's not the end of the world, but there are some cool screen savers I would like to use. _________________ MSI 865PE Neo2 FISR, p4 2.6c, nv 5600

Make sure that "opengl" is set as a USE flag in your make.conf. |

the same happens for me under xlock, however if i use xscreensaver they utilise opengl perfectly.. its sorta strange, but xscreensaver is better in every respect except that it has that annoying startup dialog everytime you boot up |

how do you start xscreensaver? it has an option: Code: | xscreensaver -no-splash |
or edit .xscreensaver file and change line about splash to: |

hi, try to launch xscreensaver-demo from a terminal and then clic for the preview of one of the failing one.
That should give some error output to terminal (i think...)
Or restart xscreensaver from a terminal with only one screensaver (of the bad ones) chosen instead of default random mode.
Without error messages is almost impossible to find what is wrong. |
