Hi guys,
What'd be the best solution to keep a Linux folder synchronized with a folder in a windows machine? I'm considering rsync, but I'm not sure which machine should be the server, and if it is available at all in a windows environment.
I currently have samba setup and working flawlessly, so it shouldn't be too difficult, right?

Nevermind, I found a simple way to achieve this. A cronjob with the following lines did the trick:
Code: | mount -t smbfs -o guest //windows/share/ /mnt/sync/ && rsync -rvu /mnt/sync/ /home/user/dir/ && umount /mnt/sync/ |
Hope this helps anyone. |

I'm using a similar solution: Installing a Rsync server (with cygwin) in the windows machines.
I tried with samba, but had better results using cygwin and rsync, when the Windows machines are remote. _________________ Best regards.
