Hi my system uses udev default from gentoo, I have hotplug started... my problem is I dont know which device to mount.

Hi,
execute

Code:

tail -f /var/log/messages

and then connect your USB device. The output should show which device node has been created and can thus be mounted.

Normally clicking "Computer" Icon on desktop would show you the USB device.
