Installed a few updates yesterday, all went well. Booted up this morning and I get a different IP address from my DHCP server, and after a few mins I realise why.
Code: | # ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00
inet addr:192.168.2.199 Bcast:192.168.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

TX packets:357 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000

What updates did you install? I got that error when I modprobed a generic module for an ethernet card under Red Hat. I installed the USR module and it detected the mac address fine. The card never worked, though ![Sad :(](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |
