|

OK, suspend to disk works great on 2.6.14 with the software suspend 2 patch. Now I'm wondering if I can get the suspend-to-RAM to work...
Basically when I run hibernate-ram, the screen blanks and the power light indicates the system is in standby. I press the power button to bring it out of standby and it comes to life, except the system is hung and the screen remains blank. Only way to continue is cycle the power (which kind of defeats the whole purpose )
All help appreciated, thanks in advance! |

that seems to be a kernel but in the sata code, should be fixed in the mm tree of 2.6.15, if I'm right. _________________ Workstation: 5.1 SurroundSound, LIRC remote control; Laptop [IBM-T43]: patched sources, s2disk/ram, fingerprint sensor |

I'm having this same problem on my inspiron 6000, and I'm using kernel 2.6.15-archck2.1. Has anyone solved this yet?
Also - does suspend-to-disk work for you in X? It works fine for me on the console, but if I'm in X it just freezes after bringing down some services. _________________ Tom |

I realise you've probably searched the forums already for this info, but just in case the Inspiron 6000 forum has quite a bit of info on trying to get the I6k laptop to suspend. Its a bit of a monster thread, but well worth trawling through.
For the record, I did try to get suspend working a while back but never really made any progress. I think that's next on my list when work becomes a little quieter. |
