I noticed today, when emerging the latest gentoo-sources that there was a vesafb-tng-1.0-rc1 patch included. I remember installing vesafb-tng manually, sometime around 2.6.11 - has anyone tried this in-kernel option? I can't even find it in "make gconfig", just the standard vesa option. My .config file says:
Code: | StubbornAesthetics linux-2.6.15-gentoo-r3 # cat .config | grep VESA
CONFIG_FB_VESA=y
CONFIG_FB_VESA_STD=y
# CONFIG_FB_VESA_TNG is not set |

I know it was at least in 2.6.14, possibly earlier than that. I use make menuconfig and it shows up there where one would expect. It works pretty well for me, although in 2.6.15 there's a lot longer of a delay after the kernel boots before my bootsplash comes up. |
